KA-BAR,
formally KA-BAR Knives, Inc. manufactures high quality military, hunting,
sporting, and all-purpose utility, and outdoor survival knives.
The
Tanto blade shape, of Asian influence, has a thick pointed blade that is rugged
enough for the most difficult tasks. A partially serrated edge makes cutting
looped and synthetic materials a breeze.
A
compact, stout tanto blade is fiercely rugged and appropriate for piercing
through the toughest materials. The tanto is a sword but is used as a knife.
The blade is single or double edged. They are characterized by an angular,
almost noncontinuous edge made up of two cutting planes. The edge draws a line
out from the handle before making a hard change of direction and running to the
tip, resulting in a striking appearance and broad, durable point.
These
practically sized fixed blade knives are the perfect size for camping, carrying
and general utility. Kraton G thermoplastic elastomer handles, epoxy powder
coated high carbon steel straight edged blades, buff polished edges, powdered
metal butt cap & carbon steel guard (both powder coated).
The
"USA" marking has been removed and you may receive a knife without
this marking. Only the marking has changed; this is not a change to where or
how these products are made. Includes a glass-filled nylon (hard plastic)
sheath.
Kraton
G polymers are the strongest, most highly dilutive second generation styrenic
block copolymers. Intended for use where UV resistance, high service
temperature, and processing stability are essential. It is used as a synthetic
replacement for rubber. It offers many of the properties of natural rubber,
such as flexibility, high traction, and sealing abilities, with increased
resistance to heat, weathering, and chemicals.
1095
CRO Van is a high carbon steel used for making knives. This steel grade is
based on the 1095 steel, with higher Vanadium, Molybdenum, Nitrogen, and
Chromium elements. These elements offer a great wear resistance and toughness.
This knife is easy to sharpen.
