Excerpts from: The Romanian .22 M69 By, Paul Liska

The Romanian M69 .22 caliber rifle was introduced to the United States because of importation by Century International Arms...
...Originally designed as marksmanship trainers by S.N. Romarm – the Romanian state arms complex in the city of Cugar, Romania. With Cugar being a large manufacturing complex, International Mechanical of Cugar or Unified Mechanical of Cugar did the production of these rifles. Thus, the IMC or UMC designation on the top of the barrel, just behind the rear sight. The number adjacent denotes which factory of the complex......For crying out loud…it’s just a .22! Enjoy it.
