M1 Garand Scope Mount - Includes Rings - S&K Scope Mounts
Product Description

aircraft aluminum.
Installation instructions for the M-1 GARAND
Completely remove the rear sight and rear sight cover.
Using needle nosed pliers, place the rear sight provided into the center hole in the groove in the mount base. Screw it down so that the 1/8th hole in the sight is about 7/8th inch above bottom of base. Put one short 10-32 set screw in the cross hole and tighten JUST enough to keep the rear sight from turning accidentally, but no more. Please note this cross-hole is angled downward somewhat.
Install the insta -mount base. Carefully align the 3/8th hole in the rifle’s receiver and install shoulder screw. Tighten as tight as possible but do not use extension on key. Adjust the iron sight for elevation (windage is effected by moving front sight in opposite direction you want the bullet to go.) Remove the base, snug set screw against the rear sight and re-install mount base.
Place one 10-32 set screw in the rear most tapped hole in the milled groove in mount base, tighten as tight as possible. Place second 10-32 set screw in the front hole and tighten only as much as the short arm on the key will permit. Place scope in position with turret far enough forward to clear an ejected clip and collimate (some elevation can be effected by loosening and tightening of the two set screws alternately.)
Should the slot in the mount that slides over one of the seriated ears on the receiver be so tight that it can’t be tapped into place with a plastic hammer you can either file or mill the slot to fit the receiver. You can also return the mount to S&K for machining. We will need to know the slot width you desire. There is no charge for this service other that shipping.
NOTE: SOME SCOPES WILL BE FOUND TO HAVE THEIR TURRETS IN A LOCATION THAT WILL NOT PERMIT A CLIP TO EJECT PROPERLY. IN A CASE SUCH AS THIS, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO ROTATE THE SCOPE 90 DEGREES TO THE LEFT.
